being from the gaming world, there's a word that i've been coming back to time and time again. it's 'tryhard'. in the gaming world, it's a derogatory term for someone who puts excessive effort, intensity, or emotional investment into an activity solely at the expense of others.

one of my favorite humorous cartoon series since i was a kid is the far side by gary larson. there's a lot of good stuff in there that will make you laugh. in my opinion, he's the best at being able to reduce fairly complex humor into a single-panel comic strip. if you're so inclined, you can get the complete far side three-volume set. it also looks like he publishes new comics on his website now. you can thank me later. 🐮
