# james needham

i recently rediscovered james needham -- a photographer that i've seen in the past that i really like. i find his visual aesthetic to be calm and pleasing. there are a lot of contemporary artists doing amazing work today that i have a lot of respect for.

# sleigh bells - comeback kid

i recently rediscovered this song that i used to listen to in college, and i think it's a perfect song. the piano sound reminds me of the music used in the sherlock holmes movies. i find the song to be a perfect metaphor for being calm, cool, and resilient in the face of constant adversity. idiot disclaimer: the gun lyrics in this song are obviously a metaphor for facing your challenges.

# some of my favorite sweets

i typically don't eat sweets too often, but when i do, these are some of my favorites. 🍩

marabou milk chocolate

link i'm a big fan of milk chocolate. i discovered this brand when i was in scandinavia, and it's probably my favorite. it's pretty smooth and not overly sweet.

andes mints

link i've always liked these. i always put them in the freezer, as it makes it a little crunchier.

matcha kit kat

link i love matcha kit kats. they're pretty addictive. i also want to try the strawberry flavor.

sweetarts

link this is probably my all-time-favorite candy. i've liked this consistently since i was a kid.

jelly belly buttered popcorn

link this is my favorite jelly belly flavor.

donettes

link my favorite donuts, besides a chocolate donut at bob's donuts in sf. i can easily finish off the entire pack in one go.

# piergil fourquié - phenix

the other item that initially caught my attention was the phenix luminous screen. it's elegant, understated, and has a nice design. the fabric is soft and the light doesn't appear to be made from LEDs, which have a refresh rate that creates a strobing effect. i'm not entirely certain, but from the photo below it appears as though it has variable color temperature settings.

# jean paul gaultier - la croisiere collection

on my way back from watching a movie in the city, i walked by roche bobois and a few things caught my eye. the 'la croisiere' collection from jean paul gaultier was one of them. i like the two individual rugs, but the larger rug with the amalgamation of butterflies is a little too busy for my taste. check it out.
